Accreditiation

We are registered as an approved tertiary education provider by the University Council of Jamaica and are a member of The Joint Committee for Tertiary Education.   Our systems and structures have been evaluated and found acceptable by several institutions, including:

The Association of Accounting Technicians

The individual qualifications offered at our institution have been evaluated and met the standards of various local and international bodies.  These include:

Heriot-Watt University was ranked in the top-25 out of 122 UK universities in the authoritative ranking table “University guide 2010: University league table” compiled by the UK Guardian Newspaper (http://www.guardian.co.uk/education/table/2009/may/12/university-league-...).    Edinburgh Business School had the most popular MBA programme in Europe

Both Heriot-Watt University and the University of London have been granted the Royal Charter recognizing their status as registered United Kingdom universities

The Construction Project Management programmes of Heriot-Watt University are accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB)

The Civil Engineering programmes of Heriot-Watt University are accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators of the Institution of Civil Engineers, the Institution of Structural Engineers and the Institution of Highways and Transportation as meeting the requirements for Further Learning for a Chartered Engineer

The Heriot-Watt University programmes are recognized internationally by the national quality assurance agencies in such diverse places as Trinidad and Tobago, Hong Kong and Mauritius.   We have submitted the required documentation to the University Council of Jamaica seeking the local accreditation of these programmes

International professional associations such as the Institute of Management Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Association of Investment Management and Research, the Chartered Institute of Marketing, the Chartered Institute of Bankers and the Institute of Internal Auditors provide entry and/or exemptions to their professional examinations for holders of Heriot-Watt University and University of London degrees   

Edinburgh Business School is recognized as a Registered Education Provider by the Project Management Institute.  The Project Management course in their MBA programme is recognized as meeting the educational standards required for project management education

The psychology programmes of Heriot-Watt University are recognized by the British Psychological Society.  

The Computer Science programmes of Heriot-Watt University are accredited by the British Computer Society.  

The ABE Diploma in Business Management is accredited by the University Council of Jamaica and the Qualifications and Curriculum Development Agency (www.qcda.gov.uk) of the UK

The ABE Diploma in Business Information Systems is accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Development Agency (www.qcda.gov.uk) of the UK
