Certified Business Analysis Professional
Overview
The Certified Business Analysis Professional was developed by the International Institute of Business Analysts (IIBA – www.theiiba.org) to establish a benchmark of excellence in business analysis. Certified Business Analysis Professionals are experts in identifying the business needs of an organization in order to determine the best solutions, a role that is increasingly seen as a vital component of any successful business-strengthening project. The CBAP is targeted at persons working in the role of business analysis, systems analysis, requirements analysis or management, project management, consulting or process improvement who wish to certify themselves to globally recognized standards of expertise in these areas.
Future Progression
Future career options include leadership positions within the public and private sector, specialization as a consultant and a transfer into general management positions in any industry.

Business Analysis Planning and Monitoring: Performing stakeholder analysis; Determining the business analysis approach; Creating a requirements communication plan; Defining requirements risk management
Eliciting Requirements: Exploring elicitation techniques; using static requirements gathering; Performing document and interface analysis
Managing Requirements Communication: Managing conflicting requirements; Creating a requirements package; Requirements presentation and review
Analysing and Documenting Project Requirements: Prioritising requirements; Organising project requirements; Analysing solution requirements, constraints and assumptions; Verifying project requirements
Assessing and Validating Project Solutions: Assessing proposed solutions; Allocating solution requirements; finalizing the solution and implementation
Managing Projects: Initiating the project; Planning the project; scope management; Performing quality control; Executing the project plan; Monitoring, controlling and closing the project
Entry Requirements
The minimum entry requirement is four years experience in business analysis functions (process review, requirements definition, analyzing user requirements, reviewing testing strategies, developing a business case, communicating user needs, etc). Key Programme Dates
There are two class periods for the programme each year - January to April and July to December. The respective registration deadlines are November 30 and June 30. Examinations are held in June and December.
Classes are held on Saturdays from 9:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.
